Bjoern M. Eskofier

Bjoern M. Eskofier (SM’16) received the Graduate degree in electrical engineering from the Friedrich-Alexander University (FAU) Erlangen-Nürnberg, Erlangen, Germany, in 2006, and the Ph.D. degree in biomechanics from the University of Calgary, Calgary, Canada, in 2010. Since February 2011, he has been the Assistant Professor of Computer Science in Sports (endowed professorship of the Adidas AG) and the Head of the Digital Sports Group, Pattern Recognition Laboratory, FAU. His current research interests include machine learning and signal analysis for wearable computing systems in health care and sports. He has authored or coauthored more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and submitted five patent applications.
